Firing
Reduction fired to 1,280°C

Celadon is a little iron in a clear glaze, fired in a kiln starved of air, which turns it from yellow to this cool sea green. Where the throwing rings are deep the glaze pools and goes darker, so the jug wears a record of how it was made.

The spout is pulled with a wet finger while the clay is soft, so it pours without a dribble.

Looking after it

Dishwasher safe. Pours cleanly: the spout is pulled, not cut.
